Biowatch, the developers of a biometric authentication wearable that can be embedded in traditional or smart watches, have revealed that the firm has mounted and tested its first fully functional prototype. In a statement, the Swiss startup from Lausanne said Biowatch is getting great traction in the wearable and watch industries, cybersecurity domain, biometric field, fintech, IoT, automotive and mobility industries, and now fashion. “This is the result of a disruptive technology whose time has come coupled with our continued focus on the: miniaturisation of our technology for convenience, and the maximisation of biometric performance”. The company said the “world's first wearable secured by wrist vein patterns” is ready for payments, access control, ticketing, ID management, environment personalization, and much more. “At Biowatch we are convinced that such a wearable is a luxury experience in itself. Especially coupled with the excellence in design and manufacturing from a luxury group we expect that the resulting embedded technology will beguile us all”, wrote the company in a statement.
