The Travel to Europe app developed by Frontex is now available to interested Member States to integrate into their digital wallets. It will allow non-EU travellers to complete pre-registration of their travel document and biometric data for the Entry/Exit System, which aims to reduce processing at border points into the Schengen Area.

Sweden will be the first country as part of the EU digital identity initiative to leverage the app at selected border points when the EES comes into effect. Meanwhile, other EU members are working on app integration and operating their national ID systems before 2026.

The app is voluntary for Member States, and Frontex provides them with continuous support throughout the integration process, from planning to operational testing.
