Starting this year, highly skilled migrants and their families can now benefit from a new centralised service at the Municipal Office in Goes. This initiative, designed to streamline their relocation process, allows them to complete all essential procedures for settling in Zeeland in a single visit. Services include municipal registration, obtaining a Citizen Service Number, collecting residence permits, and receiving guidance on living and working in the region.

The one-stop-shop service is a result of a collaboration between Expat Center Zeeland, local municipalities, and the Immigration and Naturalisation Service. This service is not limited to highly skilled migrants but also extends to other migrants in the region, who can use the IND service point for tasks such as collecting residence permits and receiving information about Dutch immigration policies.

This three-year pilot project aims to connect the services of Expat Center Zeeland, the municipalities, and the IND, providing a seamless experience for users. This initiative makes Zeeland an attractive destination for highly skilled migrants and their families. It also benefits employers, who can quickly integrate highly skilled migrants into their workforce, thus boosting the regional economy.

Additionally, the IND service point at the Municipal Office in Goes offers limited services for other migrants, such as labour migrants, students, and those joining their partners. These services include collecting residence permits, taking biometric data, and providing general information about Dutch immigration policies.

The establishment of the IND desk further expands the regional services available at the Municipal Office in Goes, complementing existing services like the Registration of Non-Residents, Social Insurance Bank, and Education Executive Agency.

This initiative represents a significant step forward in enhancing support and services for migrants in Zeeland, creating a welcoming environment and enhancing the region’s appeal to highly skilled talent from around the world.
