The National Registration Department (JPN) is the task force designated to encourage pre-registration for the MyDigital ID app. Confirming your demographic and biometric information, citizens can be verified for issuance of their digital ID.
In October, there were over one million users of MyDigitalID, which acts as a KYC tool available free on smartphones to access vital services across Malaysia. The decision was reached during the national Digital Economy and Fourth Industrial Revolution Council, kick-starting the necessary drafts of practical processes and legislation to implement the initiative. JPN is the registration authority of Malaysia which has the largest volume of citizen data. When citizens reach the age of 12, they will automatically receive their digital ID.
