Another way LinkedIn is inspiring trust on the platform as brands stake out growth and ownership of digital spaces.

In September, Julie Madhusoodanan, Head of Cybersecurity at LinkedIn, said the company was “always looking for new methods of verification” provided by their third-party services, Persona and CLEAR. LinkedIn has made ID verification available to over 700 million users and aims to grow the number of verified professionals online who tend to socially verify their peers.

Now, LinkedIn Premium through its Perks Program has teamed up with Identity Digital, a leader in domain names and online technology, to empower career seekers and business professionals to establish and manage their online identities.

Out of 700 million LinkedIn members, who can already set up identity verification to protect their profiles, premium members will receive a bundled package courtesy of the partnership that includes a website, professional email, and custom domain from Name.com, an Identity Digital-owned registrar. Users with a premium subscription that may pay for unlimited outreach to new clientele or have higher responsibility in their role or company will be able to strengthen their professional presentation and increase trust with clients.

A leading recruiter for the identity industry recently spoke out on the proportion of the sector choosing not to verify themselves. She said “nearly all my 7000 followers are from the Identity market… and under 5% of them have gone ahead with the LinkedIn verification process…”. Whilst any user can get verified status to ensure trust in their interactions and business conducted on LinkedIn, a stark number of professionals have not bothered.

Lisa Box, SVP of Strategic Alliances and Business Development at Identity Digital, emphasised the goal of the partnership to increase trusted interactions in a business environment to support career growth, business expansion, and creative expression through dedicated online destinations. Almost every professional will also have a work email address, website or other online domain they use professionally.

Moza Anthony, Business Development Manager at LinkedIn, highlighted the benefits of providing tailored domains, professional websites, and custom email solutions to enhance professional identities and unlock new opportunities.

Premium subscribers can access specialised domain names such as .fyi, .pro, .bio, .careers, and .contact, making it easier for clients, recruiters, and connections to discover and engage with them.

Subscribers will also receive a three-month free trial of the website bundle, with an option to continue the service at a discounted rate after the trial period.

LinkedIn Premium offers multiple tools to enhance personal and professional brands. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to meeting the evolving needs of businesses and individuals in building strong online brands.
